IT industry in Andhra Pradesh to create 2 million jobs: Nara Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh said the IT and electronics industry will play a crucial role in the state over the next five years, with the potential to provide two million jobs. He added that the Chandrababu Naidu-led government is competing not only with other states but also with countries excelling in this sector.
Addressing a meeting with representatives from the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) in Delhi on Monday, Lokesh outlined the Andhra government’s efforts to transform the southern into an electronics hub, leveraging the favourable environment available.
He mentioned that the state government has established a task force with prominent industrialists to regularly address the challenges faced by industries and devise solutions.
Highlighting the state’s commitment to an industry-friendly approach, Lokesh noted that Andhra Pradesh is making progress under the “Speed-of-Doing Business” initiative.
“Andhra Pradesh is advancing rapidly under the able leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu, who is serving as Chief Minister for the fourth term. We are ready to extend all kinds of incentives to anyone who comes forward with proper proposals to set up industries,” Lokesh said.
He also mentioned that a decision had been made to develop Visakhapatnam as the IT powerhouse and the capital of Artificial Intelligence (AI). “We are seeking the cooperation of industrialists to achieve this goal,” he added.
Furthermore, Lokesh announced plans to develop Anantapur and Kurnool districts as centers for the automobile and electronics industries, and the state aims to develop Amaravati to resemble Washington D.C.
